2008-2009

I was a very very very big fan from the beginning until the end. The autumn were awful for TPS. They were last and fired their coach Hannu Virta. A big player in TPS in the 90s, but he wasn´t so good as coach...
A new coach, Kai Suikkanen, came to the club and they started to play a bit better very, very fast! They leaved the last-place but they continued to be at the 11th or the 12th place...
Kärpät, the champions 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008, losed they coach Kari Jalonen to HIFK and many of the best players. The team played bad in the autumn, but better in the spring, and were 5th when the regular season ended. JYP was first, Blues second, HPK third and Jokerit fourth.
I saw my first game live in Turku 21th February 2009. It was TPS vs Kärpät. Kärpät won 4-3 but I saw a very, very fine match that will stay in my mind forever, because it was my first match live.
In the last round in the regular season TPS were 11th but they won HIFK 6-4 and rised to the 10th place because Lukko that were 10th losed to Ilves 0-1...But if Lukko had won the match in over-time, a victory VS HIFK hadn´t reached for TPS...

TPS played very, very good in the playoffs. They won over HIFK 3-1 and 4-1 in the wild-card-round, and the regular season winner JYP were the opponents in the quarter-finals. TPS played very good, they won the first game 3-1, JYP won the second 2-1 OT, the third 3-2, TPS won the first 2-1 OT, JYP the fifth 3-1 and the sixth 4-2 and reached the semi-finals with 4-2 in matches, but that the standings would be next until full (around 11000, the Turku Hall reach 11820) was something that no one had believed in October and November...
Kärpät won Jokerit with 4-1 in matches, it maked me very very happy :) :) :)  My life was in a big big crisis in 2009 (maybe the biggest crisis in my life) so it comforted me so much that I cant describe it with words...I have wroten it earlier in my blog, too... :(
JYP were champions, Kärpät second, KalPa third...KalPa were much better because Sami Kapanen started to play in the team and they buyed a lot of other players, too!
